In the forgotten crags of the Obsidian Vale, where the wind carries whispers of the dead and the moon bleeds silver through cracked clouds, there stands a chapel built not of stone, but of bone. Its spire is a shattered skull, and the doors are forged from the ribs of a long-dead god. This is the Chapel of Kalma—the place where the world’s last gamble is made. They say Kalma was not a man, not a god, but a concept given flesh: the idea of fate given voice. He was born in the moment a mortal chose to die not for honor, but for a chance. And from that desperate gamble, he rose—eternal, impartial, hungry. Each night, under the eclipse that never ends, the desperate gather. They come with hollow eyes, empty pockets, and hearts full of lies they've told themselves to keep going. One by one, they step into the chapel. A widow who sold her child’s soul to keep the fire alive. A general who betrayed his army to save his brother. A poet who wrote verses that cursed a king. They stand before the altar—a slab carved from a dead star—and place their hand upon it. The stone pulses. Then Kalma speaks, not with a voice, but with silence that echoes in the bones. "You have lived, and you have lied. You have loved, and you have left. What do you risk now?" And they answer. “I risk my name,” says one. “I risk my memory,” says another. “I risk my blood,” says a third. Then comes the moment. Kalma lifts a single die—no size, no color, but made of the first breath of the first man. It floats in air, trembling. “Roll,” he says. The die tumbles. And the soul is not returned. If it lands on one, the roll is grave. The player is not taken—yet. But their fate is sealed. They wake tomorrow to a world that no longer knows them. No face, no name. No love. No past. If it lands on six, they win. Their soul is not claimed. They are free. But they must leave behind a piece of themselves—laughter, sight, the ability to lie, or the memory of their mother’s voice. They walk away... but not whole. And if it lands on seven—the forbidden number, the number that does not exist— The ground cracks. The walls scream. And Kalma smiles. For on seven, the soul is not gambled. It is consumed. And Kalma drinks deep—of fear, regret, longing, and the last breath of a heart that dared to hope. But here is the secret, whispered only in the breath of the dying: Kalma does not always win. For on the seventh roll, if the soul is pure—not pure as in sinless, but true—it does not break. It replaces him. The dice fall again. And the soul that once feared death... becomes the one who hands out the dice. So, traveler… Do you step into the chapel? Do you place your hand on the bone altar? And when Kalma asks, "What will you risk?" What do you say? The die is waiting. And the night is long. Roll the dice. Or let them roll you.

Android
