Russian scanwords are truly a unique global phenomenon. No other language offers such a wealth of literary questions, witty humor, and references to current events. These elements appear even in ordinary crosswords, transforming them into engaging puzzles. The Russian people cherish words deeply — they treasure language, hold it with respect, and value it as something truly precious.

The app features a wide variety of scanwords — ranging in difficulty, some with photographs, and questions that are either classic or associative, such as “one word” or “one word, two words,” inspired by Elder Fur’s style. Each issue includes one English-Russian scanword and one “holey” puzzle — you’ll quickly understand the name. Every page introduces a friendly character from our cheerful creative family. All scanwords are completely free for readers. This is an annual collection, with 52–53 issues each containing 20 scanwords. A full year’s worth takes up only about 50 MB — images are small, and text remains lightweight. We respect your phone’s storage.

No internet connection is needed to solve puzzles once the issues are downloaded. New magazines are published every Friday. If you keep notifications enabled, you’ll receive a weekly reminder on Fridays at 12:00 local time. New issues download automatically when you open the app, and successful downloads won’t repeat. You can also manually download or delete any issue, or use “Settings” to download all magazines at once.

All main features, including unlimited access to scanwords, are free for users. Advertising supports the app, with one small banner per page and one interstitial ad before opening a scanword. Our ads never interrupt solving. Plus, viewers can earn free hints by watching sponsored videos.

Every reader has the option — not the obligation — to remove ads by: a) disabling ads permanently, b) subscribing to remove ads for the subscription period and receive unlimited hints, or c) purchasing hints in bulk. All options are available in the Shop.
