Elven Curse

This simple non-field RPG challenges you to escape a cursed forest. The game begins with you, the village's best hunter, participating in a national hunting tournament. Upon waking after your first night camping, you discover a disturbing scene: the forest is deserted, save for the remnants of a large hunter encampment.


The Elven Curse: Aided by Foria, a mischievous quarter-elf, your goal is to navigate the cursed woods and escape. Gameplay is streamlined, using a maximum of three buttons outside the main menu.

Character Creation: While character customization is limited, you can freely re-roll your stats before starting the game. Stat increases from leveling up are only visible on the character creation screen. Losing all life force results in game over; you'll need to manage your "talismans" (less than 2 results in game over).

Foria, the Peddler Quarter-Elf: This enigmatic child-like character secretly assists your escape using the forest's ancient spirits.

Gameplay:

• Exploration: Progress through the forest by exploring unexplored areas. The success of each exploration attempt is determined by "fog depth" and your character's stats. Use poison and rare talismans to recover vitality if needed.

• Hunter Battles: Various creatures, from wolves to frogs, will attack. Defeating them yields hides for trading. Unlike typical RPGs, combat is optional. You can maintain distance to attack with your bow and arrow without counterattack, but closing the distance exposes you to a one-sided attack. To escape close combat, you can either attempt a withdrawal (success depends on your stats) or use a flash ball provided by Foria.

• Cloak System: Craft a cloak from gathered materials to enhance your abilities. The cloak can have up to three layers, each boosting your stats. Note that the top layer can be damaged and destroyed.
