Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord residing in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer awaits in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a massive tree. An accessible entrance lies southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Utilize climbing or the Flight function to reach it.

Mastering the Lifer's Board Game

Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a six-piece board game. Control the black pieces to connect three in a row before the Lifer (white pieces) does. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls and gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any time. While the game isn't mandatory for the fight, it's crucial for buff removal. Avoid winning before debuffing the Lifer, as it will immediately attack.

Neutralizing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance, while three are permanent. Examine the yellow module behind the Lifer to see its buffs.

Removable Buffs (easily removed with the Stake of Imbalance):

  • Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of no damage.
  • Desire for Escape: Increased attack and damage over time.
  • Impending Stalemate: Attack increase stacking with each hit, resetting after 6 seconds without dealing damage.
  • Decay of Time: Significant resistance boosts and increased max HP.

Permanent Buffs (cannot be removed):

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Reduced immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking substantial damage.

To find the Stakes of Imbalance, use the Sensor near the Lifer. Four purple lines reveal their locations in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (marked with a white glow). One room requires Tacet Discord defeat, another involves breaking Friable Rocks, and the last is simply on a table.

Place each Stake of Imbalance in the corresponding module to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow upon successful debuffing.

Defeating the Lifer

With the four removable buffs gone, the Lifer is significantly weaker. Win the board game or choose "Fight it out!" to begin the battle. Its attacks are less threatening without the buffs.

Rewards for defeating the Lifer include Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests, depending on the number of victories (up to three). You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, though no achievements are tied to this.

Lifer Achievements

Complete these achievements for additional rewards:

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all chests.
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.

For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from connecting three pieces. It will eventually make a mistake.
