This four-issue series draws heavily from Hill's real-life escapades of forming a fictional Satanic metal band named Witch Taint and the ensuing whirlwind of chaos.

Dave Hill shares the origin of Dark Regards: “A few years back, fueled by my obsession with Norwegian black metal, I sent a late-night email to a Norwegian black metal record label from my underwear. I criticized their bands, which I hadn't even heard, and pitched my nonexistent, ultra-extreme band, Witch Taint. What started as a private jest turned into months of correspondence that went viral. Now, against all odds, this story has evolved into my first comic series, Dark Regards, illustrated brilliantly by Artyom Topilin.
