This roadmap introduces a new approach to yearly updates. As stated by the developers, "Starting with the Year of Prophecy, each year will now feature four major content releases: two paid expansions and two major updates accessible to all players."

These updates will bring new events, Exotic Missions, gear, and rewards. Importantly, this new structure ensures that seasonal activities are free to all players, allowing everyone to enjoy Destiny 2's major updates without additional cost.

The Edge of Fate Launches July 15

Kicking off the Year of Prophecy, Destiny 2 will launch its first expansion, The Edge of Fate, on July 15. Players will embark on a journey to the new location, Kepler, and harness unprecedented abilities with the assistance of new allies.

This update will also introduce the Portal, a new activity selection screen designed to streamline access to various activities, catering to different playstyles and making it easier for players to find their next adventure.
