Dredge's mobile release delayed until February 2025, but a new closed beta is now open!
Fans of Black Salt Games' Lovecraftian fishing horror, Dredge, will have to wait a bit longer for the mobile version. The launch has been pushed back to February 2025. However, the delay comes with good news: Black Salt Games has opened sign-ups for a new closed beta test.
In Dredge, players become a fisherman in the eerie town of Greater Marrow. What starts as simple fishing quickly turns unsettling, with strange creatures, mysterious beings, and the unsettling threat of madness looming. The mysterious nearby island adds another layer of intrigue to the already unnerving experience.
You can register for the closed mobile beta via this Google Form. Despite the delay, the numerous awards and critical acclaim Dredge has received suggest the wait will be worthwhile for those who haven't yet experienced this unique blend of horror and fishing.
A Mobile Port's Challenges
Having played the PC version, the delay isn't surprising. Adapting such a large and detailed game to mobile platforms is a significant undertaking. The additional closed beta is a smart move, allowing for valuable player feedback before the official mobile launch.
