In the dystopian universe of Freedom Wars Remastered, players known as Sinners battle monstrous Abductors to defend humanity. A key aspect of enhancing combat prowess is upgrading weapons and accessories, which not only improves base stats but also adds modules for various enhancements. Players can start upgrading weapons early in the game, bypassing the need to rely solely on mission rewards or enemy drops. This guide provides comprehensive details on upgrading weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.
How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered
To begin upgrading weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, players need to progress through the main story until they achieve Level 002 Code Clearance. At this point, CODE 2 Sinners gain access to the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Within the Weapon Development Facility, players can oversee all their weapons. Upgrades require specific resources and Entitlement Points, but costs can be reduced by recruiting a Citizen with high Facility Manager Aptitude. Although the system may initially seem complex, it becomes intuitive once you start using it.
Before finalizing an upgrade, players can review a screen that shows the anticipated stat changes. The Weapon Development Facility also offers the ability to add Elements and experiment with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate a weapon to a higher Grade, players must first acquire the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.
Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?
During the early stages of the main story, missions often yield limited rewards in terms of high-Grade weapons. While players can purchase weapons and other combat items from Zakka in The Warren, most are capped at Grade Level 1, making upgrades crucial. Additionally, one of the CODE 3 Exams necessitates acquiring higher Grade Development Facility Permits, which allow players to upgrade any weapon to their preference and maintain it, while donating lower-grade weapons found during missions can reduce your sentence and earn you additional Entitlement Points.
The first upgrade at the Weapon Development Facility also unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements linked to the upgrading system, making it especially attractive for trophy hunters. The significant damage difference between weapons of different Grades underscores the importance of investing time in upgrading your gear.
Later in the game, players can also access the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, further enhancing their combat capabilities.
