In Freedom Wars Remastered, each Abductor sports a health bar on its torso, which players can deplete using a diverse array of combat items and weapons. The game introduces various damage types, each with unique mechanics. While Light Melee weapons are typically used to sever specific parts of the Abductor, Impact Damage plays a crucial role in combat strategy.

Mastering Impact Damage can significantly enhance your ability to swiftly take down Abductors. This guide delves into the mechanics of Impact Damage and provides strategies for utilizing it effectively in Freedom Wars Remastered.

What Does Impact Damage Do In Freedom Wars Remastered?

Impact Damage is primarily associated with Heavy Melee weapons and certain Ranged Weapons. When you see a number next to the Impact Damage percentage, it doesn't directly increase your total damage output. Instead, it represents non-elemental damage that amplifies the force of your normal attacks, thereby increasing the Abductor's stagger rate. Once the stagger meter reaches its threshold, the Abductor will stagger, fall, or react in unique ways, presenting you with a prime opportunity to inflict substantial damage before it recovers.

The stagger meter is not visible, meaning the Abductor can stagger unpredictably once the rate reaches a critical point. This can be both a strategic advantage and a challenge. In offline play, you can prepare to deliver a powerful attack during the stagger. However, in online play, staggering the Abductor might disrupt your teammates' attacks. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react differently to staggering by moving backward, which can complicate precise binds or solid hits during this period.

How To Increase Stagger Damage In Freedom Wars Remastered

To boost your Stagger Damage, you'll need to unlock the Weapon Development Facility. This facility is key to crafting and customizing your gear, offering various enhancement options. Navigate to the Manufacture Modules feature to create your desired module using resources. To craft the Stagger Damage Up Module, you'll need Glassy Carbon, a common field resource found during Basic Operations. Once you have the materials, use the Synthesise Modules option to combine multiple modules of the same type, thereby upgrading their effectiveness. After crafting the module, attach it to your weapon to enhance its Impact Damage, significantly improving your capacity to stagger Abductors during combat.

Given that Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements will maximize your efficiency in staggering enemies. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are especially beneficial for players wielding heavy melee weapons or specific ranged weapons designed to build stagger effectively.
