From the very beginning, when "Game of Thrones: Kingsroad" was first announced, it faced a wave of skepticism. Many viewers were quick to voice their concerns, likening its visuals to those of a PlayStation 3 game or a typical mobile title. Yet, amidst the criticism, there were optimists who held out hope for a positive outcome, especially given the scarcity of compelling games based on the iconic series.

The release of the demo during Steam Next Fest has now settled the debate once and for all—unfortunately, "Game of Thrones: Kingsroad" has been met with widespread disappointment. Players have taken to criticizing nearly every aspect of the game, from its outdated combat mechanics to its graphics and design choices that scream mobile gaming. Some have even gone so far as to suggest that "Kingsroad" is nothing more than a mobile game ported to PC. Even if that's not entirely accurate, the game's aesthetics and mechanics feel decidedly dated, reminiscent of titles from 2010.

Despite the overwhelming negative feedback, there are a few positive reviews scattered across the demo's Steam page. These reviews often follow a similar pattern, expressing enjoyment and anticipation for the full release. It's unclear whether these positive sentiments come from genuine optimists or automated bots.

"Game of Thrones: Kingsroad" is set to launch on both PC (via Steam) and mobile platforms, though an exact release date has yet to be announced.
