New Look at GTA Lead Designer's Techno Spy Thriller, MindsEye

By PeytonMay 06,2025

Leslie Benzies, the former lead game designer behind iconic Rockstar titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is set to unveil his latest project, MindsEye. This much-anticipated game recently showcased a new look during the PlayStation State of Play, offering fans a fresh glimpse into what promises to be a thrilling addition to the gaming world.

The newly released trailer for MindsEye paints a vivid picture of a high-tech spy thriller, drawing notable parallels with the renowned Grand Theft Auto series. Viewers are treated to intense third-person gunplay, cinematic visuals, and dynamic drive-and-shoot sequences, all of which can be explored further in the cinematic trailer linked below.

PlayAccording to the official press release, MindsEye centers around protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has compromised his memory, subjecting him to fragmented flashbacks of his military service. Driven by a need to uncover the truth about his past, Jacob embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his quest.

MindsEye has been in the works for several years since Benzies left Rockstar Games to establish his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy. In collaboration with Hitman developer IO Interactive, Benzies is crafting what is billed as a AAA action-adventure game. Alongside MindsEye, the project will introduce the Everywhere platform, previously likened to a "Big budget Roblox" following a visit to their studio in 2024.

Although the new trailer did not delve into details about Everywhere, MindsEye itself emerges as an eagerly awaited action game from a leading figure in the genre. Fans can mark their calendars for a summer 2025 release.
