Many of these upcoming releases were showcased on the show floor, giving attendees and fans alike a first-hand look at what’s coming next.
IGN had the opportunity to capture exclusive photos of Hasbro's Star Wars Celebration booth display and speak directly with Chris Reiff, a lead designer at Hasbro, as well as Jing Houle from Hasbro Marketing. Fans of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor were treated to several new figures within this latest toy drop. Nightsister Merrin makes her way into the collection, while Cal Kestis appears in a dynamic three-pack set featuring Turgle and Skoova Stev. This release also includes multiple head options for Cal, including one with a distinctive handlebar mustache—an element that was especially important to the team.
"Honestly, we just wanted to have fun with it," Houle told IGN. "This is one of my favorite packs we revealed during the panel. We actually started with the handlebar mustache and the mullet and then added the clean-cut look later, followed by the short beard. For us, the primary look is almost the handlebar—it's just so much fun."
Merrin’s inclusion was a natural choice given her role in the Fallen Order and Survivor storylines. However, capturing her unique Force abilities in toy form presented its own set of challenges.
"It's tough to have Cal without Merrin," Reiff explained. "We're glad we finally got to Merrin, but doing that Force effect—the green blast—and all the intricate details of her new costume, face tattoos done via inkjet printing, and other subtle touches really brought her to life. She's such a cool character, and we know fans are invested in her journey. It was important to build out that world through these figures."
This year's lineup also features two familiar faces—Han Solo and Chewbacca. Despite numerous previous iterations, Houle emphasized that there’s always room to refine and improve classic characters.
"We haven't done them in a long time," Houle said. "They needed an update, so we gave them fully new tools with the latest articulation available. Fans can now enjoy these iconic characters with enhanced detail and mobility. We've learned a lot from past Wookiee figures, especially when it comes to managing long hair."
He continued, "Despite the long hair, we used softer plastics so Chewie can move his head naturally. That was really important. We also improved Han’s articulation but opted not to include thigh breaks to preserve the integrity of the red stripes on the side of his pants. Instead, we added articulation at the top of the boot for better movement without compromising aesthetics."

One standout among the new figures is The Ronin, inspired by the Star Wars: Visions anime series. True to the show, this black-and-white figure features only a splash of color in the form of his signature red katana lightsaber. As a Celebration-exclusive item, both Reiff and Houle stressed the importance of getting every small detail just right.
"I love that we kept to the authentic aesthetic," Houle said. "From the premium packaging design with magnets and watercolor effects to hidden accessories and bilingual labeling, every part was carefully considered to reflect Japanese culture and elevate the unboxing experience."
Reiff added, "Even the packaging language was adapted to Japanese for this exclusive release. It’s something we don’t typically do, but for this event in Japan, we wanted to fully embrace the cultural context and create a special collector’s item."
In addition to the action figures, Hasbro expanded its 1:1 scale Black Series helmet line with the reveal of a highly detailed Death Trooper helmet during their panel.
"[It's] a great fully new tooled helmet for the Black Series Premium roleplay line," Reiff noted. "It looks like it came straight from the movie, complete with weathering and lighting effects. Press a button on the side and you can control the chin lights and spectre sensor lights. Working closely with Lucasfilm, we used original files to ensure accuracy, and we even added interior detailing that wasn’t present in the real-world props but matches our other helmets for consistency and realism."
