Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her iconic role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again, as announced during Disney's Upfront presentation in New York. The news, reported by Variety, confirms months of speculation and rumors about the potential return of characters from the Netflix Defenders series to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter joined her co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," she stated. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

The series continued with two more seasons and the team-up event The Defenders. However, as Netflix's partnership with Marvel for original programming came to an end, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter reprise her role.

The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Charlie Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again, fans began to hope for the return of other Netflix heroes. With Jon Bernthal's Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's return in Season 2 feels like a natural progression.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more to come for the character within the MCU, though for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet set a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will be available in March 2026.
