LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets for May the Fourth

By VictoriaApr 27,2025

LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, all set to launch on May 1, 2025. This release is part of Disney's comprehensive celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, which LEGO traditionally marks with the launch of a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In 2023, LEGO introduced Luke's X-Wing Starfighter, followed by the TIE Interceptor in 2024. This year, fans can look forward to Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, widely recognized among Star Wars aficionados as Slave I. This name was changed to Firespray in 2021 following a request from Disney (confirmed by LEGO), likely due to sensitivities around the term 'slave.' The new name appears to be permanent.

The last 'large' version of this LEGO starship was released in 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary, featuring 1007 pieces and depicting the ship as seen in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new 2025 version, inspired by Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, boasts 2970 pieces—nearly triple the piece count of its predecessor. It measures an impressive 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
