Marvel Future Rivals Seasons Slated for Content Reductions

Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Debut

Marvel Rivals is launching Season 1: Eternal Night Falls on January 10th, boasting double the content of a typical season. This expanded offering is a deliberate choice by the developers, driven by the desire to introduce the Fantastic Four as a cohesive unit. The season is expected to span three months, with a significant mid-season update.

This inaugural season introduces three new maps: the Sanctum Sanctorum (launching with Season 1 and featuring the new Doom Match mode), Midtown (used for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed closer to the mid-season update).

The Fantastic Four's arrival is a major highlight. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman debut on January 10th, classified as a Duelist and Strategist respectively. The Thing and Human Torch are slated for the mid-season update, approximately six to seven weeks later.

While the extended Season 1 content is welcomed by many, the absence of Blade has disappointed some fans. Despite speculation, his inclusion in this season didn't materialize, leaving the door open for future appearances.

The developers haven't elaborated on how this oversized season will affect the future release schedule of new features, maps, or game modes. However, it's currently presumed that the pattern of adding two heroes or villains per season will continue. The anticipation surrounding Season 1, and the ongoing speculation surrounding Marvel Rivals, keeps the player community engaged and excited for what's next.
