Mask Around, the highly anticipated sequel to 2020's quirky platformer Mask Up, is now available. This time, players will experience a blend of intense running, gunning, and brawling action. The signature yellow ooze returns, but with some exciting new gameplay twists.
For those unfamiliar with the original, Mask Up was a unique roguelike platformer where players evolved from a puddle of yellow goo into a powerful, gooey warrior. Mask Around builds upon this foundation, adding 2D shooting mechanics to the mix. Players can seamlessly switch between ranged combat and close-quarters brawling, utilizing their goo abilities strategically.
Resource management remains crucial. The precious yellow ooze is still in limited supply, demanding careful consideration, especially during challenging boss encounters. The game features improved visuals and a refined gameplay loop.
A New Layer of Strategy
Currently available on Google Play, Mask Around offers a significant upgrade from its predecessor. While maintaining the core gameplay elements, it introduces depth and strategic choices by incorporating weapons and requiring players to carefully manage their goo reserves alongside their arsenal. An iOS release is yet to be announced.
