Monster Hunter Now Tests New Monster Outbreaks Feature

Exciting times are ahead for Monster Hunter Now players as Niantic introduces a new feature test known as Monster Outbreaks. This test is designed to gather player feedback and make any necessary adjustments before officially launching it as a permanent addition to the game.

When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?

The testing phase for Monster Outbreaks is scheduled to run from April 26th to 27th, with sessions lasting a couple of hours each day. Specifically, the event will take place twice a day on both Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., according to local time.

During these testing windows, certain outbreak points on the game map will be teeming with 8-star Black Diablos. The challenge? Collaborate with other players to take down a total of 100 Black Diablos at each specific outbreak location within the one-hour window. Note, this target is set per outbreak point, not globally across all players.

To participate, you must be at least HR 11. Additionally, the party feature won't be available during this test; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal.

Outbreak points are easily identifiable on the map with a unique icon. By tapping on these icons, you can access detailed information about the outbreak. A sign-up roster is also available at each location, allowing you to coordinate with other players and plan your hunting times.

The mechanics of the slay count are particularly intriguing. If you hunt with a group of three other hunters and successfully take down one Black Diablos, it counts as four towards the goal of 100.

If your group manages to reach the 100 Black Diablos target before the time runs out, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the hour, as these will be the only monsters spawning during the outbreak.

Successful completion of the 100-monster goal comes with rewards, including 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, if you utilize the sign-up roster, you'll have the chance to earn a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
