Obtaining the Music Box
Like other cursed items in Phasmophobia, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its appearance is random; there's no guaranteed method to ensure its spawn.
Only one Music Box can spawn per game. Once located, interact with it to pick it up, then interact again to activate it.
Using the Music Box
Several strategies leverage the Music Box. Upon activation, it plays a song. If a ghost is within 20 meters, it will "sing along," revealing its location. Within 5 meters, the ghost will approach the Box. You can even place the activated Box on the ground as bait. The Box automatically stops playing after the song concludes.
Note: Holding the Music Box decreases your Sanity.
Triggering a Hunt with the Music Box
The Music Box can initiate a cursed or standard hunt, depending on the circumstances:
- Throwing the active Box (not placing it down).
- Reaching 0% Sanity while holding the active Box.
- The ghost approaching the Box for over five seconds.
- The ghost's proximity to the player holding the active Box.
For optimal use, consider bringing additional tools like Smudge Sticks. These aid in survival during hunts, allowing for ghost identification or objective completion.
