You read that correctly! Nintendo has announced that they are shutting down *Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp*, and players are understandably taken aback. Despite its ongoing success, the end of service (EOS) is approaching. Let's delve into the details.
When Are They Shutting Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp?
Mark your calendars: the online services for *Pocket Camp* will cease on November 28th, 2024. If you're still enjoying your time at your cozy campsite, it might be wise to cherish these final moments. Interestingly, the game will celebrate its seventh anniversary just days before its EOS, on November 21st.
Come November 28th, you'll no longer be able to purchase Leaf Tickets or renew your Pocket Camp Club memberships. On October 28th, auto-renewals for the Pocket Camp Club will stop. If your membership continues after this date, you won't receive a refund, but you will get a special badge in your mailbox.
Make sure to grab those Leaf Tickets before November 26th, as it's your last opportunity. The final farewell to the online community will be on November 28th at 7:00 AM PST.
But Here’s Some Good News: It’s Not A Complete Farewell!
Nintendo isn't completely closing the door on *Pocket Camp*. They're planning to release a paid offline version of the game. While this version won't include features like Market Boxes, gifts, or visiting friends' campsites, the core gameplay will remain intact.
You'll be able to keep all your saved data and continue playing without an internet connection. More details about this new paid version are expected to emerge around October 2024, so stay tuned.
It's worth noting that Nintendo has been gradually phasing out its mobile games. *Dr. Mario World*, *Dragalia Lost*, and now *Pocket Camp* follow suit, with *Mario Kart Tour* currently in maintenance mode. So, while the shutdown of *Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp* may be surprising, it's part of a larger trend.
If you want to make the most of your remaining time with the game, you can still download *Pocket Camp* from the Google Play Store. And don't forget to check out our upcoming story on *Monument Valley 3* by Netflix.
