Nintendo has officially announced the pre-order date and pricing for the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, along with its accessories. While the console's price remains unchanged, the cost of accessories has seen a notable increase, potentially affecting the pre-order decisions of early adopters.
The base model of the Nintendo Switch 2 is priced at $449.99, while the bundle including Mario Kart World is set at $499.99. Mario Kart World itself is available as a standalone game for $79.99, and Donkey Kong Bananza will retail at $69.99.

Despite the pricing concerns, there is some relief in knowing that several Switch 1 accessories will be compatible with the Switch 2. According to Nintendo's support site, original Joy-Con controllers and the Nintendo Switch 1 Pro controller can be wirelessly paired with the new console, although the original Joy-Cons cannot be directly attached. Other legacy controllers, such as those from the Super Nintendo and N64, will also be compatible with games that support them.
