People Can Fly, renowned for developing Bulletstorm and co-developing Gears of War: E-Day, has entered into an exciting new agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This deal focuses on the creation of a new game, currently codenamed Project Delta. According to a recent report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is set to be developed as a work-for-hire game, though details beyond this remain under wraps.
The studio is bustling with activity, managing a diverse portfolio of projects. Alongside Project Delta, they are also working on Project Gemini in collaboration with Square Enix, which faced a setback last year with the layoff of 30 developers. Other ongoing projects include Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red, which also appears to be linked with Sony, and the recently announced final VR project, Project Bison.
Recent months have seen significant shifts in their project lineup. In December, People Can Fly announced the suspension of work on Project Victoria and the scaling down of Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they decided to cancel Project Dagger, which was intended to be an action-adventure game developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains highly active, with a total of eight known projects currently in development. This includes the much-anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day has not yet been announced, Project Gemini, in collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
