Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, the time has come to rally—IO Interactive has exciting news: their upcoming James Bond game, Project 007, is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive's website, this game will introduce a fresh narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
In this much-anticipated title, players will have the opportunity to step into the shoes of the world's most famous Secret Agent and embark on a journey to earn their 00 status. This will be the first time gamers experience a James Bond origin story, making it a groundbreaking addition to the franchise.
Hakan Abrak, the head of IO Interactive, shared his enthusiasm with IGN back in October about crafting this new origin story for the beloved spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. He further elaborated on the vision for the game, expressing hope that it could evolve into a significant trilogy in the future. "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
