Season 1 of Marvel Rivals explodes onto the scene with new characters, maps, and game modes, including a fresh set of challenges rewarding players with freebies like a Thor skin. This guide focuses on unlocking Recursive Destruction in the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map.
What is Recursive Destruction?
The "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" challenge introduces Recursive Destruction, a unique mechanic in this hero shooter. It involves destroying Dracula-influenced objects that then reappear in their original form. However, not every destructible object works; identifying the correct targets is key.
Locating Destructible Objects
To pinpoint these special objects, utilize Chrono Vision. Accessible via the "B" key (keyboard) or the right D-pad button (console), Chrono Vision highlights destructible objects in red. Only these red-highlighted objects trigger Recursive Destruction.
Completing the Midtown Challenge
This challenge requires playing Quick Match (Midtown) mode. Initially, no red-highlighted objects will be visible. Wait for the first checkpoint; two buildings will then appear, marked for Recursive Destruction.
While engaging in combat, prioritize targeting these buildings. The frantic pace might obscure the reappearance of the buildings after destruction, but multiple hits should complete the challenge. If unsuccessful, simply replay the match. After completing this, you can move on to other challenges, such as trying out Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.
