Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 Logo Leaked

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo has surfaced online, potentially confirming the console's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next-generation console have been circulating since early 2024, when President Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged its existence. A pre-March 2025 unveiling is anticipated, with a launch later in the year.

The exact release date remains speculative, despite Furukawa's May 2024 announcement. While the name "Nintendo Switch 2" isn't officially confirmed, most leaks point towards it. Many believe the design will closely resemble the original Switch, suggesting a direct sequel approach.

According to Comicbook, a logo nearly identical to the original Switch's—featuring stylized Joy-Cons above the "Nintendo Switch" text—has been leaked on Bluesky by Necro Felipe of Universo Nintendo. The only difference is a "2" next to the Joy-Cons, seemingly confirming the widely used placeholder name.

However, verification is pending, and some remain skeptical. Nintendo's history includes consoles with names drastically different from their predecessors (e.g., Wii U), raising questions about the naming convention. The Wii U's unconventional name is often cited as a factor in its lower sales, potentially influencing a more straightforward approach for the Switch 2.

Previous leaks appear to corroborate Felipe's logo and name, but confirmation awaits the official unveiling. Recent social media activity hints at a potentially earlier-than-expected reveal. Until then, gamers should treat all rumors as unconfirmed speculation.
