The rumors, which were amplified by insider and journalist Jeff Grubb, hinted that classic God of War remasters would be unveiled at the event. This sparked considerable excitement among the fanbase, leading Santa Monica Studio to issue a statement to clarify the situation:
"Pantheons collide! We’re thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War where we’ll reflect on the past two decades of the series. Given the star-studded lineup and the anticipation surrounding this milestone, we want to make it clear that no announcements are planned for this event." Santa Monica Studio
Instead of game announcements, attendees were treated to new thematic artwork featuring Kratos and Jörmungandr. The event will also feature appearances by actors from the God of War series, including Terrence Carson, the voice of Kratos, and Carole Ruggier, who voiced Athena. The panel is scheduled to take place on March 22.
