SoMoGa Drops A Revamped Version Of 16-Bit Classic JRPG Vay On Android

SoMoGa Inc. has unveiled a revitalized version of Vay, now available on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG receives a modern makeover, boasting enhanced visuals, a streamlined user interface, and controller support.

Originally launched in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs), Vay enjoyed a 2008 iOS re-release courtesy of SoMoGa. This latest iteration builds upon that legacy.

Enhanced Vay Features:

The revamped Vay features over 100 enemies and a dozen challenging bosses. Explore over 90 diverse areas, each brimming with adventure. A welcome addition is the adjustable difficulty, catering to various player skill levels.

Convenience is improved with an auto-save function. Bluetooth controller support offers flexible gameplay options. Players can acquire new equipment and items, while characters level up, learning new spells. An AI system allows for autonomous character combat.

The Story:

The game is set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennia-long interstellar war. A colossal, malfunctioning machine crashed onto the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, unleashing destruction and chaos.

Players embark on a quest to rescue their kidnapped wife, a mission that may also save the world. The peaceful kingdom is attacked on the wedding day, and the bride is abducted, setting the stage for an epic journey to thwart the war machines.

Vay's narrative is captivating, blending nostalgia with modern elements. It remains true to its JRPG roots, with experience and gold earned through random encounters. Approximately ten minutes of animated cutscenes are included, with both English and Japanese audio options.

Download the premium version of the revamped Vay from the Google Play Store for $5.99. For more gaming news, check out our other articles, such as "Unlock Love And Goodies With The Loving Reveries Update In Tears Of Themis."
