Radiangames has officially announced Speed Demons 2, a high-octane, side-scrolling highway racer that delivers a visual flair and blistering gameplay reminiscent of the iconic Burnout arcade racing series. While the original was a mobile hit, this sequel is being developed for PC and is slated to launch later this year.
According to the developer, the game’s control scheme puts a fresh twist on racing mechanics: “The controls are focused on movement, not steering. You’ll still have gas, brake, and turbo (or ability) buttons, but you move the analog stick (or mouse) up and down to control your vehicle's direction.” They go on to say, “It might sound unconventional at first, but once you dive in, it feels completely intuitive.”

In terms of variety, Speed Demons 2 offers ten distinct game modes. Among them are high-intensity modes like Pursuit, Takedown, and Rampage—clearly inspired by Burnout’s Road Rage style gameplay—where players must smash as many vehicles as possible within a set time limit. For those who prefer precision over chaos, there's also Scratchless, a mode that challenges players to reach the finish line with minimal damage, echoing the classic Burning Lap from the Burnout franchise.
