NetherRealm Studios unveils gameplay for Mortal Kombat 1's T-1000 DLC character and announces Madam Bo as a Kameo fighter.

The T-1000 gameplay showcases a range of attacks reminiscent of Terminator 2, including blade and hook arm maneuvers. His fighting style incorporates elements similar to Baraka and Kabal, culminating in a liquid metal transformation and uppercut reminiscent of Glacius from Killer Instinct. Robert Patrick, the original T-1000 actor, provides voice and likeness, featured in a clash with Johnny Cage. A showcased Fatality reimagines the iconic Terminator 2 truck chase scene.

PlaySimultaneously, NetherRealm surprised fans with the announcement of Madam Bo, a popular character from the base game's storyline, as a DLC Kameo fighter. Brief gameplay glimpses show Madam Bo assisting the T-1000.

The T-1000 will be available March 18th for early access (Khaos Reigns owners), followed by general release on March 25th. Madam Bo launches March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or a standalone purchase.

The T-1000 concludes the Khaos Reigns DLC character additions, following Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. Speculation regarding a potential third DLC pack or Kombat Pack 3 persists, fueled by questions surrounding Mortal Kombat 1's sales performance.

Warner Bros. Discovery, however, remains committed to the Mortal Kombat franchise, intending to focus on four key titles, including Mortal Kombat, as stated by CEO David Zaslav. Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat's creative director, confirmed NetherRealm's next game was planned three years ago, promising continued support for Mortal Kombat 1.

While fan anticipation builds for a third Injustice game, NetherRealm and Warner Bros. remain tight-lipped. Ed Boon cited the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to Unreal Engine 4 (from Unreal Engine 3 used in Mortal Kombat 11) as factors influencing the decision to develop another Mortal Kombat title before returning to the Injustice series. Boon explicitly confirmed that the Injustice franchise remains a possibility.
