Upgrading your weapons in Avowed is crucial for survival. Early game weapons are Common (I), but you'll quickly face Level II enemies requiring Fine (II) gear. Here's how to acquire and improve your equipment.
Upgrading Common (I) to Fine (II) Weapons and Armor:
Gear in Avowed has a Quality level (I, II, etc.) indicated by color and Roman numerals. To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II), you must first reach +3. This involves multiple upgrade steps at a Party Camp workbench, each requiring specific materials depending on the item type. The final upgrade to Fine (II) requires Adra, a rare crystal obtained from quests, merchants, or dismantling unique items.

Finding and Purchasing Fine (II) Weapons and Armor:
While upgrading is effective, it's resource-intensive. Fine (II) gear can be found:
- As loot: Rarely spawns in Dawnshore early in the game. Level II enemies, especially Bounties, have a chance to drop them. However, Common gear is less effective against Level II foes, so be prepared.
- For purchase: Merchants in Paradis sell Fine (II) weapons and armor. Paradis becomes accessible after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Two sisters operate adjacent stalls: one sells magical items (Merlylin), and the other sells standard weapons and armor (pictured above).
By combining upgrading and strategic purchasing, you can ensure you're always equipped to handle the challenges Avowed throws your way.
