Short Circuit Studio has just rolled out an exciting new update for their recently launched settlement builder, TownsFolk. Dubbed "Shadows and Fortune," this update brings a darker tone to the charming pixel-art adventure, introducing a host of new mechanics to enrich your gameplay experience.
Even though TownsFolk is newly launched, the developers aren't holding back on adding depth to the game. The "Shadows and Fortune" update introduces new buildings and challenges that will keep you engaged. You'll encounter roaming Barbarians that will ramp up the tension in both campaign missions and Skirmish mode. Additionally, eight new structures are being added: the Altar, the Town Square, the Blacksmith, the Aqueduct, the Bank, the Granary, the Factory, and the Terraformer.
The water tiles are getting a splashy upgrade with the introduction of the rare Whale, adding a new layer of excitement to your aquatic explorations. Special Locations are also being introduced to heighten the unpredictability of your adventures, featuring ancient Obelisks and new Shipwrecks.
To help you navigate this expanded world, a handy Compendium acts as an in-game encyclopedia, keeping track of all the new elements. The Exploration System has been revamped, and you can now adjust Campaign Difficulties between Frontier and Survival modes to tailor your experience.
