Ubisoft is setting the sails high for Skull and Bones Year 2, aiming to make it the most expansive year yet for the pirate multiplayer game. The upcoming year promises an array of exciting content, including new modes, ships, a legendary Kraken, and the much-anticipated addition of land combat, a feature fans have been clamoring for since the game's launch.
During a special Year 2 showcase that premiered yesterday, Ubisoft unveiled its ambitious plans. The presentation highlighted a slew of new content, with Season 3: Guts and Glory standing out as it introduces land combat. Scheduled for this fall, Season 3 will allow players to step away from the sea and engage in swordfights and firearm duels on land. This feature is part of the Rogue Warlord additions, which will see players exploring sandy beaches and damp caves to rescue skilled crew members known as Officers. A teaser video provided a glimpse of what to expect, but fans will need to wait until later this year to experience it fully.
While land combat is the highlight of Year 2, Ubisoft has more in store for Skull and Bones throughout 2025. Season 1: Ascent into Chaos, which launches today, April 15, introduces a loot-enhancing item ascension feature, challenging World Tiers, a new Schooner medium ship, and the team-based Death Tides PvP mode. Season 2: Oaths of War, set for summer 2025, will bring Megaforts and the formidable Frigate large ships. Finally, Season 4: Eye of the Beast, arriving this winter, will introduce the Kraken, the Hunter’s Guild, and the Corvette large ship.
If the announced updates sound appealing, players can take advantage of a free weekend coming up from April 17 to 21. During this period, gamers can dive into pirate PvP action and purchase the game at a discounted price, though the exact amount has yet to be revealed.
