Valheim's Wandering Merchants: Locations and Inventory Guide

Valheim's exploration is driven by discovering new biomes and resources to conquer its challenging bosses. The journey can be difficult, especially in the Swamp and Mountains. Thankfully, three merchants offer valuable items to ease your adventure. Their locations, however, are procedurally generated, making them tricky to find. This guide details each merchant's location and inventory.

Locating Haldor (Black Forest Merchant)

Haldor, often the easiest to find, spawns within 1500m of your world's center. He resides in the Black Forest, an area accessible early in the game.

He's frequently near The Elder's spawn point (often indicated by glowing ruins in Burial Chambers). For a quicker search, utilize the Valheim World Generator (created by wd40bomber7) to pinpoint his exact coordinates using your world seed. Once located, Haldor remains in that spot. Build a portal for easy access. Trade with him using gold, readily obtained from dungeons and selling gems (Rubies, Amber Pearls, Silver Necklaces, etc.).

Finding Hildir (Meadows Merchant)

Hildir, located in the Meadows, is harder to find due to her distant spawn (3000-5100m from the world center, with spawn points ~1000m apart). The Valheim World Generator is your best bet, but searching Meadows within that radius is an alternative. A T-shirt icon appears on the map when you're ~300-400m away. Build a portal once found.

Hildir offers clothing with various buffs and quests rewarding you with new items after retrieving her lost chests from:

• Smouldering Tombs (Black Forest)
• Howling Caverns (Mountains)
• Sealed Towers (Plains)

Tracking Down the Bog Witch (Swamp Merchant)

The Bog Witch, found in the Swamp (a challenging biome), spawns between 3000m and 8000m from the world center (spawn points ~1000m apart). The World Generator is highly recommended. Her Cauldron icon appears nearby. Build a portal after finding her.

She's a friendly Greydwarf with a magical Kvastur, offering comfort level 3 in her hut and items for new foods and meads.
