Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is confirmed for a second year of DLC support, with major details revealed about its upcoming 10.0 update.
Following its breakout success with 7 million copies sold, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have announced continued support for Space Marine 2. A recent community update confirmed Year 2 will introduce new PvE missions, enemy types, weapons, and additional unannounced content.
Launching in September 2024, Space Marine 2 will celebrate its first anniversary with a major update this September. While Patch 10.0 promises significant additions, players should note that Patch 9.0 will arrive first. Originally planned to include a new PvP mode, this feature has been postponed to 10.0, leaving 9.0 focused primarily on balance adjustments.
Details have emerged about the upcoming Chaos vs Chaos PvP mode featuring the fearsome Helbrute - a corrupted dreadnought construct piloted by a Chaos Space Marine. Players may recall encountering this devastating unit in the campaign, where it famously clashed with Ultramarine Brother Valtus. The new mode will also introduce highly requested Chaos-themed armor sets.
The 10.0 update will introduce the devastating Power Axe melee weapon, complete with unique combat animations and execution moves. This addition aligns with Games Workshop's recent Space Wolves focus in the tabletop game.

Perhaps most exciting is the confirmation of the Techmarine class, coming to both PvE and PvP modes. While visuals remain under wraps, this engineer-class specialist handles vehicle maintenance and wields advanced weaponry, including shoulder-mounted bolters. Techmarines serve dual loyalties to both their Chapter and the Mechanicus cult.
These substantial updates come despite the unexpected announcement of Space Marine 3's development. Recently, Patch 8.0 launched with Siege Mode, the game's take on survival horde gameplay.
