3 Popular Horror Games Coming to Switch This Year

Nintendo Switch to Receive Trio of Frictional Games in 2025

Abylight Studios and Frictional Games have partnered to bring three acclaimed horror titles to the Nintendo Switch in 2025: SOMA, Amnesia: Rebirth, and Amnesia: The Bunker. Abylight Studios will handle the porting process, expanding the reach of these critically-acclaimed games.

Frictional Games, renowned for its contributions to the horror genre, is allowing Abylight Studios to adapt these titles for the Switch platform. This collaboration addresses the significant demand for more mature horror titles on Nintendo's console. Fans can anticipate experiencing the unique frights and narratives of these popular games.

The partnership will deliver both digital and physical versions of SOMA, Amnesia: Rebirth, and Amnesia: The Bunker. These titles offer diverse horror experiences: SOMA delves into sci-fi themes of AI and human existence; Amnesia: Rebirth revisits the classic gameplay of the Amnesia series; and Amnesia: The Bunker plunges players into the terrifying, semi-open world of World War I trenches. All three will launch digitally and physically on the Nintendo Switch in 2025.

Horror Games Coming to Nintendo Switch:

  • SOMA
  • Amnesia: Rebirth
  • Amnesia: The Bunker
  • Amnesia Collection (Physical Edition - launching later this year)

Further expanding the horror offerings, a physical edition of the Amnesia Collection for Nintendo Switch will be released later this year. This collection includes Amnesia: The Dark Descent (often cited as one of the greatest horror games ever) and its spiritual successor, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.

While specific release dates remain unannounced, the news has generated considerable excitement among fans eager for more mature titles on the Switch. The anticipation extends to future Nintendo consoles, with speculation about whether they will also offer a broader range of mature-rated games.
