DC Comics announces Superman Unlimited, a new monthly series debuting in May 2025, penned by Marvel veteran Dan Slott. Slott, renowned for his work on titles like The Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four, returns to DC after a two-decade Marvel exclusivity.
Superman Unlimited pairs Slott with artist Rafael Albuquerque and colorist Marcelo Maiolo.

Slott states, "He’s the greatest superhero, and I’ve waited my whole life to tell his stories. Rafael and I will take him—and you—to incredible places each month. Millions of ideas for Superman, Lois, the supporting cast, classic villains, and brand-new characters. Whether you're a lifelong fan or a newcomer, Superman Unlimited #1 is the perfect entry point."
The series introduces a perilous new reality. A Kryptonite asteroid shower arms Superman's foes, like Intergang, with Kryptonite-enhanced weaponry. This necessitates innovative technology and fighting strategies. Simultaneously, Clark Kent faces a transformed Daily Planet, now a global media giant after merging with Morgan Edge's Galaxy Communications.
DC group editor Paul Kaminski compares the series to Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness's Superman/Batman, stating Superman Unlimited will deliver classic Superman adventures while introducing a massive Kryptonite deposit. He envisions a world where even petty crimes utilize Kryptonite weaponry, creating unprecedented danger for Superman and his allies.
Kaminski further notes the contrast with the recently launched Justice League Unlimited, highlighting Superman Unlimited's focus on Kryptonite-empowered supervillains. He emphasizes the surprising plot twists and Albuquerque's stunning artwork, promising a spectacular 2025 for Superman.

A 10-page prelude appears in DC All In 2025 FCBD Special Edition #1 (May 3, 2025), followed by Superman Unlimited #1 on May 21, preceding James Gunn's Superman film (July 11).
