New Anime Alert: Watch Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX by Evangelion Team

By OliviaApr 20,2025

The much-anticipated Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX has finally landed for North American audiences. This new Gundam series introduces an "alternate history" storyline, a challenging-to-pronounce name (supposedly “G-Queue-x”), and a fresh lineup of model kits. In IGN's review of the GQuuuuuuX theatrical release, critic Juan Barquin praised the series as “exactly the kind of inventive reimagining of Gundam we deserve.”

The influence of another major sci-fi series is evident in the credits of the new Gundam anime. GQuuuuuuX is directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, co-director of End of Evangelion, and penned by Yoji Enokido, known for writing classics like FLCL, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Ouran High School Host Club, and Bungo Stray Dogs, along with episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The creative mastermind behind Evangelion, Hideaki Anno, also contributes to the project. With such talent at the helm, the series promises an exciting journey.

If you're eager to dive into Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX or catch up on the original Gundam series, here's everything you need to know:
