Ubisoft Mainz has recently provided new insights into Anno 117: Pax Romana with an exciting trailer release. Initially, the game was set to explore two distinct regions: Lazio and Albion. However, the latest preview suggests that Lazio serves as the initial setting, providing a tranquil backdrop before a sudden catastrophe forces players to venture into the unknown territories of Albion, representing ancient Britain.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts as a peaceful region, but an unexpected disaster propels players towards the more challenging environment of Albion. This new region is known for its harsh climate, hostile tribes, and its distance from the Roman heartland, presenting unique governance challenges.
In Anno 117: Pax Romana, players step into the shoes of a governor, tasked with navigating these difficulties. The game encourages players to find solutions beyond mere force, advocating for the integration and respect of local customs to maintain peace. A notable feature is the ability to customize ships, allowing players to strategically choose between speed enhancements with oarsmen or bolstering firepower with archery turrets.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is set to launch in 2025, available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X platforms. This eagerly awaited title promises a rich experience filled with strategic depth and historical immersion.
