Armadillos thrive in warm biomes, appearing in groups of two or three. Their defensive mechanism involves rolling into a tight ball when approached quickly, so it's essential to move slowly and carefully to prevent this from happening.

You'll find Armadillos in the following biomes:

• Badlands
• Eroded Badlands
• Savanna
• Savanna Plateau
• Windswept Savanna
• Wooded Badlands

There are two primary methods to collect Armadillo Scutes:

1. Watch and Wait:

Similar to how Chickens drop Eggs, Armadillos naturally shed a Scute every 5-10 minutes. This passive method requires no effort or items, but it can be slow, especially if you need to craft multiple sets of Wolf Armor.

2. Brushing:

The more popular method involves using a crafted Brush. Typically used for investigating suspicious sand or gravel, the Brush can also be used to gently obtain one Scute per brushing from an Armadillo.

In the Java Edition of *Minecraft*, an unenchanted Brush can be used on an Armadillo four times before it breaks, while in Bedrock Edition, it lasts for five uses. Brushes can be repaired by combining two damaged ones, and enchanted Brushes can maintain their enchantments through an Anvil.
