Get ready, Avatar fans! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have officially announced a brand-new animated series: Avatar: Seven Havens. This exciting news comes as a special treat for the 20th anniversary of the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Created by original series masterminds Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, Avatar: Seven Havens will be a 26-episode, 2D animated series. The story follows a young Earthbender, the next Avatar after Korra, navigating a world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. In this perilous era, her destiny as the Avatar marks her not as a savior, but as a potential destroyer. Hunted by both human and spirit foes, she and her long-lost twin must unravel their mysterious past and protect the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.

DiMartino and Konietzko shared their excitement, stating, “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters.”

The series will be structured into two 13-episode seasons, "Book 1" and "Book 2." DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating the series alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Casting details are yet to be revealed.

Avatar: Seven Havens marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also hard at work on a feature-length animated film centered on Aang, slated for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026. This film will depict an adult Aang embarking on a new adventure.

The 20th-anniversary celebration extends beyond Seven Havens, encompassing a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a Roblox game. It's a full-fledged celebration of the Avatar universe!
