After agreeing to give the splinter, you face several options:
- Persuade Sargamis to use the statue: This leads to his death and rewards you with the Last Light of Day mace. Choosing this path also grants the "Get In The Statue, Envoy" achievement.
- Offer yourself to the statue: This presents a further branching path; you can either comply, resulting in your death (and the game restarting from the point where Sargamis instructs you), or refuse, triggering a fight with Sargamis.
Refusing to Give Sargamis the Splinter:
Refusal initiates a boss fight with Sargamis. He summons spirit creatures and employs swift, powerful attacks. He's vulnerable to ice spells. Victory yields the Last Light of Day mace, a unique weapon with health regeneration and fire damage bonuses.
The Best Outcome: Convincing Sargamis
The optimal solution requires an Intellect stat of 4 or higher. Place the splinter in the statue, activate it (demonstrating its failure), and then speak with Sargamis.
