Larian Studios announced a January launch for the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 stress test, accessible via Steam on PC and consoles (Xbox and PlayStation). Mac and GOG users will not have access. Registration is currently open.

Larian plans extensive testing to identify and resolve any instability or gameplay issues before the official release. Cross-play functionality will be a key focus of the stress test. The developer acknowledges the complexity of implementing cross-play in a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale and encourages player participation. Players are invited to recruit friends or find groups via the Larian Studios Discord server.

While Patch 8 marks the final major update, Larian commits to ongoing support for modders. Significant updates are planned to enhance modding capabilities, enabling players to create and share their own narratives. Since the September release of official modding tools, over 70 million modules have been downloaded, and over 3,000 mods have been uploaded.
