The stress test for what could be the eighth and final major patch of *Baldur's Gate III* is now underway. While some Sony console players have already had early access to the patch, the developers suggest reinstalling the game if you're not keen on participating in the test.

Patch 8 brings a significant update with the introduction of crossplay, allowing seamless gaming experiences between console and PC players. By linking a Larian account, players can easily invite friends from different platforms to join in on the adventure. An intriguing aspect of this patch is that modded gameplay will also support cross-platform play, but with specific conditions. All mods used by PC players must be compatible with Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby should not have more than a double-digit number of mods installed.

For multiplayer enthusiasts, the long-awaited split-screen co-op feature is currently being tested on the Xbox Series S. This is excellent news for owners of this less powerful console, as it previously did not support split-screen play, adding a new dimension to the gaming experience for this user base.

Among the other notable features of Patch 8, players can look forward to an extensive photo mode with numerous customization options and the introduction of 12 new subclasses, enhancing the game's diversity. Larian Studios has also worked on fixing bugs and rebalancing various elements, though some issues persist.
