Bandai Namco is taking another exciting step into the mobile gaming world with the upcoming release of Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the beloved Digimon Card Game. Set to launch on both Android and iOS platforms, this free-to-play game has no confirmed release date yet, but anticipation is high among fans.
The official announcement came during Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th. The event was packed with exciting news, including the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc starting in April 2025. Additionally, Bandai Namco celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime with a special video and announced a new project titled Digimon Adventure: Beyond. They're also developing a new RPG for consoles and PC called Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
If You Play Digimon Card Game, Alysion Isn’t the Same
Digimon Alysion isn't just a simple port of the physical card game. It introduces a unique feature called ‘DigiAly’ cards, which are exclusive to this digital version, along with new Digimon and characters. The character lineup, featuring an all-girls cast, marks an interesting and somewhat unusual direction for a digital card game. This choice has sparked some skepticism among fans who were hoping for a more traditional adaptation of the physical game.
This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile games, and their previous attempts have met with mixed success. With two prior failures, there's understandable hesitation regarding the potential success of Digimon Alysion. Despite this, I remain optimistic and eagerly await its release. A closed beta test is on the horizon, though details are still under wraps. For more information, you can visit their official website or follow their updates on their X account.
