Black Ops 6: 2024

According to Circana analysts, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 achieved the top spot as the best-selling game in the United States last year, marking the Call of Duty franchise's sixteenth consecutive year leading the U.S. market. EA Sports College Football 25, released in July, claimed the title of most popular sports game. While overall U.S. gamer spending dipped slightly by 1.1% year-over-year in 2024, Circana attributes this to decreased hardware demand, contrasting with a 2% increase in add-on spending and a 6% rise in service spending.

Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2 will launch their second season on January 28th, featuring a ninja theme and a crossover with the "Terminator" universe. The game's diverse missions, lauded by players and critics alike, successfully avoid monotony, consistently surprising players throughout the campaign. The shooting mechanics and completely revamped movement system—allowing characters to run in any direction and shoot while falling or lying down—received high praise.

The campaign's approximate eight-hour playtime also garnered positive feedback, considered neither too short nor too long. Many gamers echoed reviewers' sentiments, particularly praising the zombies mode and the campaign itself. However, some found Black Ops 6 underwhelming, with the majority of Steam complaints focusing on technical issues.

Reviews frequently cite game crashes and unreliable server connections as significant problems, often hindering progress through the story mode.
