Bandai Namco Cancels Blue Protocol Global Release Amid Japan Server Closure
Final Player Compensation and Service Termination Details

Bandai Namco has confirmed Blue Protocol's Japanese servers will permanently shut down on January 18, 2025. This decision leads to the cancellation of the planned global release through Amazon Games. According to Bandai's statement, this move resulted from their inability to sustain service quality meeting player expectations.
The developers expressed their regret: "After careful consideration, we've concluded that continuing to deliver satisfactory service lies beyond our current capabilities." The company also acknowledged disappointment regarding the canceled partnership with Amazon Games for worldwide distribution.
Despite the shutdown announcement, Bandai promises ongoing content support until termination. Notably, Rose Orb purchases and refunds are discontinued, but players will receive compensation packages including:
- Monthly distributions of 5,000 Rose Orbs from September 2024 through January 2025
- Daily bonuses of 250 Rose Orbs
- Free access to all remaining season passes, beginning with Season 9

Originally launching in Japan June 2023, Blue Protocol attracted over 200,000 concurrent players initially. However, server instability required emergency maintenance at launch, beginning a downward trend in player retention and satisfaction.
The game ultimately failed to meet Bandai Namco's financial targets, as indicated in their March 2024 fiscal report. This performance assessment contributed significantly to the ultimate decision to terminate service.
