Some side quests are more enjoyable than others, but some can also be quite confusing or frustrating. Completing "In Vino Veritas" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* involves several steps and even a side quest within a side quest.

Speak with Casper and Havel

Begin "In Vino Veritas" by speaking with Casper Rudolf, located at his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City. He's easily found by proceeding straight from the east gate. Casper seeks to discover the secret to the monks' exceptional wine. Fully exhaust the dialogue options to learn about Havel and the book he left with Adleta. This sets the stage for impressing Havel.

To obtain the book from Adleta, visit the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall during the morning or afternoon. You'll find her in an open garden. Gather five marigolds beforehand. Either find her before her brother, Hugo, arrives, or speak with Hugo to get his permission to talk to her. Maintain a kind demeanor while explaining your need for the book to Casper. You can attempt a skill check to obtain it, or gift her the marigolds. Once acquired, read the book from your inventory.

Alternatively, you can skip Adleta and proceed directly to Havel at his inn in Kuttenberg City. Improve your drinking skill and wear an outfit boosting your Charisma to at least 18. In your conversation with Havel, select the following options: Germany, "Let's do it," "That's a very fine gift," Steinberger, and finally, "It's missing ginger." This impresses Havel, who reveals the monastery's secret ingredient. Return this information to Casper.

Find the Monastery's Secret Ingredient

Next, travel to the vineyard north of Kuttenberg. Speak with the recruiter to initiate the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. While not mandatory for "In Vino Veritas," starting it allows free movement within the vineyard. Locate Jerome on a bench near the main building.

Enter the main building, turn left, and access the storeroom. Use your lockpicking skills to open chests and obtain Sulphur Wicks, essential for Casper. For extra Groschen, gather five seedlings from the garden behind the main building before leaving.

To complete "Under the Straw Hat," perform tasks such as removing plants and moving sacks. Report back to Jerome upon completion for your reward. Regardless, return to Casper with the wicks (and seedlings, if collected).
