Koei Tecmo has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation PRISM, a romance game that expands on the beloved Team Ninja fighting game series. Scheduled for release on March 27, the game will be available on PS5, PS4, and PC. A special "global version" will be offered for sale in Asia, featuring English text support, allowing a broader audience to enjoy the game.
In Venus Vacation PRISM, players can immerse themselves in a tropical island setting, engaging in various mini-games, altering character personas, and fostering relationships with the game's heroines. The developers promise a rich, romantic narrative that will captivate fans, offering a unique departure from the traditional fighting game experience while preserving the distinctive style of the Dead or Alive franchise.
This new installment represents an experimental shift for the series, aiming to provide a fresh yet familiar gaming experience. However, the franchise's bold ventures are not without their challenges. Koei Tecmo annually removes approximately 200-300 doujinshi and 2,000-3,000 images featuring the series' characters, particularly those in swimwear, which are often the subject of fan-created "adult" content. Despite the affection fans have for these characters, the developers are firm in their stance against such unauthorized uses, highlighting the ongoing tension between creative fan expressions and official content management.
