Fans of the iconic Dragon Quest series have a special treat coming their way, but only if they're based in Japan. Dragon Quest X, which brought an MMORPG twist to the beloved franchise, is set to launch on mobile devices in Japan with an offline mode that's perfect for solo adventurers. This mobile version of Dragon Quest X Offline will be available for iOS and Android starting tomorrow, offering players the chance to dive into the game's world without needing an internet connection.
As highlighted by Gematsu, this offline version of Dragon Quest X can be purchased at a premium. It's a significant move for the series, considering its history with MMORPG elements like real-time combat, which differ from the traditional Dragon Quest experience. The offline version initially hit consoles and PC back in 2022, a full decade after the original Dragon Quest X debuted in 2012.

Unfortunately, for fans outside Japan, a global release isn't on the horizon yet. The original Dragon Quest X was exclusive to Japan, and there's currently no solid news on an international release for the mobile offline version. It's a disappointment for many, including myself, a dedicated Dragon Quest enthusiast who fondly remembers countless hours spent on Sentinels of the Starry Sky. The chance to play another installment of the series on mobile is something I, and many others, would greatly appreciate.
