What To Use Old Coins For In Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Old Coins are unusable in Chapter 1; focus on the main story. After Chapter 2, complete these main story battles:
- Suppression of You Province
- Suppression of Jing Province
- Suppression of Liang Province
Completing these unlocks the Shui Jing Retreat near Ji City. Speak with Sima Hui there to exchange Old Coins for rewards. You can also manage bonds and review past interactions. Rewards are tied to specific Old Coin milestones; redeem them whenever possible.

With 500 Old Coins to find, avoid early farming; more methods unlock gradually. Acquisition methods include:
- Overworld exploration.
- Companion and officer Bond Interactions.
- Inn letters after story events.
- Regional Peace rewards at Waypoints.
Overworld Old Coin icons are small and only visible up close, unlike Pyroxene. Focus on gameplay; Old Coins are a natural byproduct.
