Galarian Incursion: Pokémon GO Welcomes Gen 8

The Steely Resolve event in Pokémon GO, running from January 21st to 26th, marks the highly anticipated debut of the Corviknight evolutionary line: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight. This arrival fulfills a long-standing community wish, expanding the game's Galar region Pokémon roster.

The event was subtly foreshadowed in December 2024's Dual Destiny Season loading screen, which featured Rookidee and Corviknight before their official announcement.

The Steely Resolve event offers a comprehensive package:

• New Pokémon: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight make their Pokémon GO debut.
• Special Research: A new Dual Destiny Special Research storyline with unique rewards.
• Field Research Tasks: Providing opportunities for additional encounters and rewards.
• Increased Spawns: Boosted appearance rates for Clefairy, Paldean Wooper, Carbink, and several others (some with shiny possibilities).
• Magnetic Lure Modules: Attracting Pokémon like Onix, Beldum, Shieldon, and Rookidee.
• Shadow Pokémon: A chance to remove the Frustration Charged Attack using Charged TMs.
• Raids: One-star, five-star (featuring Deoxys and Dialga), and Mega Raids (Mega Gallade and Mega Medicham) will be available. Many raid Pokémon have a chance to be shiny.
• 2km Eggs: Offering the chance to hatch Shieldon, Carbink, Mareanie, and Rookidee (shiny possibilities).
• Evolutionary Bonuses: Evolving specific Pokémon during the event will grant them unique, powerful attacks. This includes Corviknight learning Iron Head.
• GO Battle Week: Running concurrently, this offers 4x Stardust from win rewards, increased daily battle sets, a free Timed Research with Grimsley-inspired avatar rewards, and varied stats for Pokémon encountered through GO Battle League.

The Steely Resolve event is part of a busy January for Pokémon GO, including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in Shadow Raids and the continuation of Dynamax raids featuring the Kanto Legendary Birds. The Pokémon GO Community Day Classic also makes a return. This event promises a significant addition to the game and a rewarding experience for players.
